John Muench was born in Medford, MA, on Oct. 15, 1914. He was the son of James Adams Muench and Marjorie Davie Muench. On Sept. 6, 1941, he married Barbara Davey and they had four children, Robin, Anthony, Katherine, and Jon. A painter and lithographer, he was largely self-taught, with some training at the Art Students League in New York and Academie Julien in Paris.
